TUCSON, Ariz.–August 9, 2011–Liberty Star Uranium & Metals Corp. (The “Company”) (OTCBB: LBSR) is pleased to announce 2011/2012 rental-assessment work maintenance fees for the East Silver Bell Porphyry Copper Project and the Walnut Creek claim block of the Tombstone Porphyry-Precious Metals Project in southeastern Arizona have been paid to the US Bureau of Land Management from the Company’s current operating funds account.
The East Silver Bell exploration stage project includes 26 unpatented lode mining claims within the Silver Bell Mining District located 40 miles northwest of Tucson, Arizona. The property immediately abuts the patented claims of Asarco Mining LLC with mining partner Mitsui Mining of Japan. Asarco has a solvent extraction electrowinning (SXEW) plant approximately 4 1/2 miles to the west of the East Silver Bell Project property line.
The Walnut Creek claim block of the Tombstone Porphyry-Precious Metals Project consists of 33 unpatented federal lode mining claims over a projected covered porphyry copper-silver-gold skarn deposit mineral center in Cochise County, Arizona.
