TUCSON, Ariz.–December 21, 2010–Liberty Star Uranium & Metals Corp. (The “Company”) (OTCBB:LBSR) is pleased to announce that it has received confirmation that Northern Dynasty Minerals Ltd. (“Northern Dynasty”) (TSX: NDM NYSE AMEX: NAK) has completed payment for the Company’s Alaska mineral claims through August 31, 2011.

The mineral claims secured by the annual payment comprise Liberty Star’s Big Chunk Super Project and Bonanza Hills Project in southwestern Alaska.

The Company recently received copies of the Annual Affidavit of Labor receipts and receipt of claims rental payment submitted to the State of Alaska, Department of Natural Resources by Northern Dynasty. Northern Dynasty paid $1,741 in affidavit filing fees and $209,020.00 for claims rental covering all of the Company’s Alaska properties.
