Liberty Star Uranium & Metals Corp. Update 806 Oct 15, 2018 LBSR: OTCPK
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TUCSON, AZ–(Oct 15, 2018)–Liberty Star Uranium & Metals Corp. (“Liberty Star” or the “Company”) (OTCPK: LBSR) is pleased to announce the addition of 8 State of Arizona Mineral Exploration Permits (MEPs) covering approximately 6 square miles and nearly doubling the size of unpatented land holdings for the Hay Mountain Project (“Hay Mountain”), Liberty Star’s premier property for the exploration of porphyry copper/gold/ moly and associated metals.
“We previously knew about the potential for Carlin style gold occurring on this new land block from old records in our archives which show multiple areas of steep gold mineralized features assaying in the one ounce range from shallow drilling circa the early 1970’s as well as information from a major mining company. Shallow angle diamond drill cores show intercepts of 1-ounce gold aggregating an approximate reported resource of $10 million in gold at an approximate price of $1,200/ ounce gold. There was no point in talking about it until we had the MEPs which took 5 long years and significant amounts of money. As of last week, the land is ours and we can begin exploration when funding is available.” [Jim Briscoe]
The Company also recently (all before the September 1 statutory due date for rental payments on Federal lode mining claims) completed payment on all existing Bureau of Land Management federal lode-mining claims (unpatented) for its properties located in Cochise County hosting the Tombstone Super Project including Hay Mountain, and maintains a small holding of Federal mining claims at the East Silver Bell porphyry copper mineral body.
The 42-square mile Tombstone Super Project area of interest encompasses the Hay Mountain Project, a multi-target, multi-metal, variable depth exploration project for porphyry copper / gold / moly and multiple potential byproduct metals including lead, zinc, manganese, cobalt, silver, uranium, thorium, and rare earth elements. Surface and subsurface studies (geochemistry, geophysics, x-ray fluorescence) indicate the potential for discovery of a high grade and large sediment and porphyry hosted copper, gold, and moly ore body of the same type as the nearby (about 50 miles west in Pima County) Rosemont porphyry copper, Patagonia area porphyries, the Johnson Camp – Excelsior – Gunnison project and the much closer (12 mile distant) Bisbee deposit and other commercially important ore bodies throughout southeast Arizona. Liberty Star plans to engage in exploratory drilling as soon as possible.
The Company has discontinued payment for BLM land in northern Arizona over the North Pipes Super Project for uranium & other metals as these claims remain out of reach because of the Obama era withdrawal, choosing to focus efforts and resources on southern Arizona.
Comments CEO – Chief Geologist James A. Briscoe: “I believe that uranium mining is mostly over on the Arizona Strip portion of the Colorado Plateau for the foreseeable future. Despite the wealth possessed by the claims we held, we cannot continue to wait for the markets and the federal government to do the right thing. However, there are other high-grade poly metallic uranium targets with battery and precious metals that we are continuing to evaluate for potential acquisition should the uranium price increase as it is projected to do. Hay Mountain on the other hand, is ripe for development now and just about everybody understands that the demand and price of copper and the electric battery metals will take off sooner rather than later.”
